Movement mastery for life outside the gym

Pioneers of quality calisthenics and bodyweight kit

Gravity Fitness was created because nothing like it existed. Back in 2012, our founder Rich Hawkins was struggling with shoulder niggles from bodybuilding. He’d always admired calisthenics as the foundation of every type of movement. So he decided to work on his own bodyweight strength.

By 2015, he wanted a set of parallettes. He bought some online – and was shocked by the poor quality (we’re talking plastic pipe material). He sent them back, but couldn’t find anything better. Rich was frustrated - he knew calisthenics was the foundation of true strength and wanted more people to know about it.

That night, he decided to take matters into his own hands. And that’s when he realised he could create quality, fit-for-purpose parallettes at a reasonable price. Our first run of 200 sold out, and now we’ve sold over 100,000 sets. (And, yes, Rich’s shoulder is much better thanks).

We believe in…

Movement for every body

We will never stop making calisthenics accessible and relevant to everybody and every body, from total beginners to advanced athletes.

The power to unlock your potential

Training is about more than mastering cool skills. It’s a daily opportunity to see what your body can do and carry that into daily life.

Bodyweight mastery

Calisthenics and bodyweight training is part strength work, part meditation, an outlet for personal discovery without distractions.

Training on your terms

We’ll keep innovating with quality equipment, digital platforms and training education so you can train how, when, and where you want.

The Gravity Fitness timeline

2015 – WORKING WITH ATHLETES
We worked with UK calisthenics athletes to develop parallettes that were fit for purpose. The first batch sold out in two weeks – we were onto something! We still work closely with athletes across the UK and Europe to design and develop high quality functional fitness equipment.

2016 – WORLD STREET WORKOUT AND CALISTHENICS FEDERATIONCHAMPIONSHIPS
In 2016 we joint hosted the UK WSWCF Championships and sponsored the World Championships. This was a pivotal moment for calisthenics in the UK. Gravity Fitness builds lasting relationships with athletes – many of whom are now part of the Gravity family.

2016 – WCO BATTLE OF THE BARS
We sponsored the WCO Battle of the Bars in Amsterdam, part of the Amsterdam Fit Expo. By now, we were supplying Gravity Fitness equipment to over 30 European countries.

2017 – INDUSTRY EDUCATION AND TRAINING COURSES
In 2017, we turned our focus to industry education. We teamed up with Bodyweight Gurus to offer calisthenics workshops and REPS-accredited instructor training courses across the UK. We still run these sources, and we’re really proud to be at the forefront of education in this part of the industry.

2017 – RESISTANCE BANDS LAUNCH
When we launched our range of resistance bands (6 sizes with varying levels of resistance), they sold out straight away and have been a best-seller ever since.

2018 – UPGRADING OUR PARALLETTES
Parallettes have always been our flagship product. Over Christmas 2017 we sent out a huge customer survey and added rubber feet to all our parallette products, making Europe’s most popular parallettes even better.

2018 – GYMNASTIC RINGS LAUNCH
That 2017 customer survey asked which new products people would like. As a result, we introduced wooden gymnastics rings to the range.

2019 – WEIGHTED VEST LAUNCH
Our next big launch was weighted vests, and they’ve been a best-seller ever since. Our weighted vests can be used for running, bodyweight, and calisthenics work.

2019 – PORTABLE PULL UP RACK V2
Our famous Portable Pull Up Rack got a makeover in 2019, with wider feet to create an even more stable product.

2020 – PARALLETTES V2
We gave our Parallettes a glow-up the following year. They got a complete redesign to make them stronger, more stable, with zero wobble.

2020 – APPAREL V2
We relaunched our apparel range in 2020, switching to eco-friendly bamboo fabric for our training tees and launching our slouchy Gravity hoodies.

2021 - 7 PRODUCT LAUNCHES
All systems go after lockdown! We were delighted to launch 7 new products: steel maces, kettlebells, jump ropes, sandbags, battle ropes, grip trainers and foldable mat.

2022 – UNCONVENTIONAL TRAINING TOOLS
The pace didn’t let up in 2022. Our focus was on bringing unconventional training tools to the market, including Indian clubs, sledge hammers, our assisted rings system dip belt, wrist wraps, anti-sweat tape and ankle weights. We also launched our distinctive Thor Hammer.

2023 – EXPANDED PARALLETTES RANGE
We revisited our best-selling parallettes to launch new designs, new materials, and different sizes to the range. We now sell three types of parallettes, including small travel sized and long gymnastics-inspired designs.

2023 – THE GRAVITY FITNESS APP
After 13 months of R&D, we brought calisthenics guidance to even more people around the world with the launch of our training app. We’re immensely proud of the app, which is packed with individual workouts, progressive training plans, and skills masterclasses for beginners to elite athletes.
